Officers of the Enugu State Police Command on Monday announced that it arrested five suspected armed robbers. Vanguard reports that the state police public relations officers,Mr Ebere Amaraizu, said the suspects were apprehended on Sunday,September 7, 2014, in Enugu while attempting to rob a taxi with registration number UWN 542 XA. Amaraizu further revealed that the police acted on a tip off from some residents of the area accosted the suspects while they were on their way to carry out the operation. The PPRO, who also disclosed that three of the suspects were from Enugu State, while the other were from Ebonyi State, listed the items recovered from them to include one locally made pistols with three live cartridges.
